Our mission is to bridge the gap between undergraduates and graduates in the AI industry. The vision of our project is stocked with five(05) incredible events ready to amaze and inspire: AI Summit, AI Ideathon, Monthly Talks, Bootcamp, and the AI Day Celebration. Each event will feature exciting topics and activities that will enhance your understanding of AI and provide opportunities for growth in the industry.

Monthly Talks
Our monthly talks series will cover a range of topics related to AI, including machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and robotics. The aim of our monthly talk series is to spread AI awareness and the latest trends in AI among AI enthusiasts.
- AI Day
AI Day is an annual physical event that is held for one day to celebrate International AI Day which is on the 16th of July. The event brings together AI enthusiasts from around the country to discuss the latest trends and developments in AI, share knowledge and expertise, and network with like-minded individuals. Attendees of AI Day will have the opportunity to participate in various activities, such as keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, and product showcases. The event aims to foster a community of AI enthusiasts who are passionate about advancing the field of AI and contributing to its growth and development.
- AI Ideathon
The AI ideation is a highly specialized training program designed for AI enthusiasts who have been selected to participate. The program is designed to provide participants with comprehensive training and hands-on experience in various aspects of AI, including Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Computer Vision.
- AI Bootcamp
The AI bootcamp will be organized to provide highly technical knowledge about a specific area of AI such as NLP and at the end, participants will implement a mini project related to that specific area. AI bootcamp will proceed with the help and contribution of industry partners.
- AI Summit
The AI Summit is an event that brings together industry leaders, experts, and enthusiasts to share knowledge and explore the latest developments in AI. Through keynote speeches, panel discussions, and workshops, participants will have the opportunity to engage with some of the most innovative and influential voices in the field of AI. The event is designed to foster collaboration, creativity, and learning among attendees, with the ultimate goal of advancing the field of AI and unlocking its full potential. Whether you are an AI expert or simply curious about this rapidly-evolving field, the AI Summit is the perfect place to gain insights, make connections, and discover the latest trends and technologies shaping the future of AI.
Fueled by Passion and Powered by AI: The 2023/2024 Organizing Committee of IEEE AI-Driven Sri Lanka
The future is looking bright for the IEEE AI-Driven Sri Lanka Project as we proudly introduce our new organizing committee for the year 2023/2024! Led by the visionary Kavindi Dissanayake as Chair, and backed by the dynamic trio of Sandaru Vithanage, Kavindu Chathuska, and Ruwantha Dissanayake as Vice Chairs, this team is ready to take on the challenge of using AI to create a better tomorrow. With seven dedicated teams including Secretary, Program, Design, Logistics, Publicity, Finance, and Web Management, comprising a total of 27 passionate members, this committee is poised to drive positive change within our community. So hold on tight, Sri Lanka, because the IEEE AI-Driven Sri Lanka Project is ready to make waves in 2023/2024!
Innovative Minds Unite: A Recap of the AI-Driven Sri Lanka Workshop at IEEE Education Week 2023
The IEEE Education Week Sri Lanka 2023 was a resounding success, with a diverse range of educational opportunities, programs, and resources highlighted over two action-packed days. The event was a collaborative effort by several IEEE groups, including IEEE SLInspire, IEEE Techverse Sri Lanka, IEEE SL Students Activities Committee, IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka, IEEE WIE Sri Lanka Section, IEEE SL Section SIGHT, and IEEE Computer Society Sri Lanka Chapter. The Sri Lankan celebration of the global phenomenon took place on the 3rd and 4th of April 2023 at TRACE Expert City, Sri Lanka, and brought together industry experts, academics, and students from across the country to explore the latest advancements in technology.
As part of the event, AI-Driven Sri Lanka hosted an interactive workshop on Conversational AI, Generative AI, and LLM, with a Q&A session led by the esteemed speaker Hansa Perera. Our objective was to create an open platform for knowledge-sharing on the latest advancements in engineering technologies and raise awareness about the industrial challenges and opportunities available to engineers in Sri Lanka. We also aimed to provide academics, researchers, undergraduates, and postgraduates with insights into the relevance of these technologies and identify priority research areas in line with the latest advancements. Our workshop provided a platform for students to showcase their research and project work and initiated discussions on how to use these technologies for the betterment of humanity. Overall, we are proud of the success of the IEEE Education Week Sri Lanka 2023 and our workshop and look forward to continuing to drive progress in engineering and AI in the future.
