IEEE StudPro 3.0, Career Fair 2019 organized by IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka for the third consecutive time was held on the 25th of November at the University of Moratuwa premises from 9.00 AM to 4.00 PM. There were 228 registrants from 19+ universities as job seekers for the event with 15 organizations mentioned below. Interested individuals from the immediately passed out batches as well as the current final year undergraduates completing their degree by the end of this year, were also presented for the screening. This contributed to the tireless efforts of the planning committee, which was comprised of selected job developers and employment specialists.
Axiata Digital Labs, SimCentric Technologies,Pearson Lanka and Paraqum Technologies were the sponsors of the StudPro 3.0. Embla Software Innovation ,Dialog Axiata PLC ,Synopsys Lanka (Pvt) Ltd , Mobitel , , London Stock Exchange Group, Virtusa , hSenid Business Solutions, Sysco LABS , Creative Software and Orel Corporation (Pvt) Ltd were the industry participants of the event.
With related to our IEEE StudPro 3.0 career fair we have conducted two workshops as pre workshops for the career fair to guide the applicants to perform better. The pre workshops are conducted by leading companies in Sri Lanka in different sectors. This initiative to collaborate with the industries before the career fair encourages the participants to collaborate as companies and job seekers with the awareness created.
Interview Facing and Personal Grooming
As the first event of IEEE StudPro 3.0, we conducted a workshop regarding interview facing and personal grooming on the 27th of June 2019 at the University of Moratuwa from 10 am to 12 am with the keynote speaker Mr. Sadun Fernando, Director of Performance Strategist, Blue Mango Partners. The event was sponsored by Mobitel. Mainly this workshop was a target for the students who were to start their professional career in the industry field. This helped to gain unlimited experience beyond the expectation.
